I am looking for relatives in Armenia, my mother's last name is Yeghiazarian and my grandmother's name was Hamamdjian. They had to runaway from Turkish and I would like to know if I have relatives in Armenia or U.S.

I think I have some in New Jersey but not sure.

Both of these names, with various spellings, can be found at ellisisland.org (or at http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html). Do you have any first names, dates, or towns of origin? They can also be found at verizon.com, but I don't see any in New Jersey.

The Lycos "who where" search site comes up with 29 hits on the last name Yeghiazarian and 7 hits on Hamamdjian. You can check this yourself at http://www.whowhere.com/. Of course, there's no way of knowing if any listed people are relatives but it might give you a starting point to contact possible relatives.
