DARPINIAN > GALSTIAN

I am looking for any family that may have changed it's name from DARPINIAN to GALSTIAN. It's possible that the family, say about a 100 years ago, moved to Greece.
Another rumour is that a "cousin" and two sons went to Switzerland.
The family may have ended up in Los Angeles, California.
Any information at all would be useful
