The festival is an 800-year-old Armenian tradition of harvest celebration, similar to the American Thanksgiving, dating back to the old country. I believe I asked someone, possibly my mother, why people called me that. I was told it was because Armenians were some of the first immigrants to Fresno,Artist Biography| Music Download|Ringtones which made them similar to American Indians. I didn’t think it was so bad, but people used it as a racial slur.

Fresno has lost its place as the largest Diaspora of Armenians in the US (Glendale,Custom Kitchens |Customer Vanities |Custom Furniture CA now contains the most Armenians), it will never loose its historical Armenian roots.

My parents, although Armenian, were born here in the US,|Organic Protein Bars so they gave me an American name.
