Origin of the family name Balentz/Balents (Constantinople)

Hello,

My Armenian ancestor moved from Constantinople to Paris and was named Balentz/Balents. I have made some reseach about the origin of this family name but I did not found anything relevant. Does anyone know the meaning of this name ?
